  1. 1Enter your rates

    Labor rate, per hour or per minute, whichever way you think. Material markup. Trip charge, one flat number or priced by rings of driving miles out from the shop. Emergency surcharge, processing fee, sales tax. The settings page shows a real job repricing line by line as you change each number, so you see cause and effect in the first two minutes. Nobody has to guess what a setting does.

  2. 2Walk the price book

    30–60 min

    You don't start from an empty screen. There's a starter catalog with departments and categories already in place. Rename them to your words, set your codes, your labor minutes, your material costs. Drag everything into the order you want. The order on the screen is the order you set. This is the long step, and it's the one that pays.

  3. 3Your words, everywhere

    15 min

    Job types, payment terms, warranty wording, package banners. Starter versions are already there. Rename them or write your own. Every list a customer or tech sees is a list you wrote.

  4. 4Your paperwork

    5 min

    Upload your logo. Add your license number, and it prints under your address on invoices and receipts. Pick your job number style, or just type where your paper book left off and keep counting.

  5. 5Run a test job

    10 min

    Open the iPad app, build a quote, present the packages, sign it, and look at the invoice. When it looks like your shop, you're ready to run a real one.

Three things worth knowing before you start

  • It saves as you go. You'll start the setup, get called out on a job, and come back Thursday. Your place is kept at every step.

  • Running solo? You're mostly done already. The defaults are set so an owner-operator works from the truck without configuring anything. Set your rates and go.
